Smart Sequential Road Flares - Road Safety | Pi-Lit

Smart Sequential Road Flares (NEW FMCSA Exemption)

The pi-lit® ‘smart flare’ incorporates an innovative radio-linked network to automatically sequence the flash. Approaching drivers see a sequentially-lit string of flares much like a runway landing strip that guides traffic around the incident or work zone. They are easy to deploy and provide advanced traffic guidance and safety for motorists and road professionals. pi-lit Sequential Safety Flares has now been granted an exemption from the Federal Motor Carrier Administration (FMCSA) to be used as a warning device in lieu of warning triangles or fusee flares.

Improve Safety and Save Money

Traditional fusees cost $3.00 and last 20 minutes. The Smart Sequential Road Flare costs less than $0.90 per deployment for the 1st year and is free thereafter. And this doesn’t include the cost of a new pair of pants! Call it a win/win!

Safety Made Simple

A confused or distracted driver is a recipe for disaster. Provide drivers with a runway-like approach light that can be seen farther in advance and distinguishable from the other vehicle light bars. There’s a reason why a sequential landing zone beacon system (“rabbit”) is used on the runway threshold.
