# ®+ Pi-lit Sequential Contractor Quick Start Guide For “Frequency” System

**Step-by-Step**  
**Default setting night-time flash only (sun sensitive).**  
*Pennsylvania default setting 24hr flash*

1. Insert batteries into the black base. Make sure the battery polarity is correct. Follow the “dot” diagram on black case.

2. Attach black battery case to the colored base. Lamp will flash once to indicate that power has been applied to the lamp.

3. Use the pin at the base of the neck to turn on the lamp. ***Gently*** TAP (not HOLD) the pin to turn the lamp on

## a. Turn the lamps on in order

b. **Wait 3 seconds before turning on the next lamp**

4. 1 TAP = Frequency-1

5. 3 TAPs = Frequency-3

a. To form the Sequential Tapper, TAP all the lamps in that taper either 1 time for frequency-1, or 3 times for frequency-3.

b. All frequency 1 lamps will talk to each other, all frequency 3 lamps will talk to each other.

c. Tapers that are close together should be set to different frequencies.

6. TAPPING pin while lamps are on will report the lamps frequency by flashing main LED

a. 1 Flash = Frequency-1; 3 Flash = Frequency-3

## Inserting or replacing lamps into middle or end of a string Step-by-step

1. IMPORTANT: Make sure lamps that are being replaced are TURNED OFF or power is removed

2. Stand at the location where you will be inserting a new lamp

3. Using the pin, TAP the button ONCE to insert into frequency-1 taper; 3 times for frequency-3 tapers. The lamp will automatically find the missing position and flash correctly in sequence.

4. The lamp will automatically insert itself into the missing position of the active string.  
   a. Note: when inserting multiple lamps, the first lamp inserted will take the lower position first.

5. When swapping old lamps for new lamps it is important to power down or remove batteries from all the old lamps. New lamps that are turned on will append (add to the end) of the old lamps. This will cause problems.
